Program Overview
The Phoenixville Daily Internship Program is designed for students aged 18 and older who are passionate about art, media, and communications. This program provides hands-on experience in a working gallery, studio, and shop environment, offering opportunities to develop skills in writing, editing, marketing, photography, social media management, event production, and more. Interns will work closely with our team to produce meaningful content and gain valuable industry insights.

Program Objectives:

  • Provide real-world experience in startups, entrepreneurship, business, art, gallery, studio, office, and media production.
  • Foster professional growth through mentorship and feedback.
  • Develop essential skills in communication, research, and storytelling.
  • Encourage creative thinking and problem-solving in a professional setting.
  • Offer opportunities to build a professional portfolio.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a high school, college, or university program (preferably with a focus on journalism, communications, or related fields).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in local culture, art, storytelling, digital media, and business.
  • Availability to commit to the program's duration.

Program Details:

Duration:

  • 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the season and student availability.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate class or work commitments (10-20 hours per week).

Location:

  • Phoenixville Daily's brick-and-mortar location and/or remote, depending on the specific internship role and candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Editorial Tasks: Write articles and research topics, and assist with research.
  • Social Media Tasks: Manage social media platforms, create engaging posts, and analyze metrics.
  • Photography/Video Tasks: Capture photos and videos for social media and web, edit content, and assist with multimedia-related projects.
  • Community Engagement Tasks: Collaborate with local organizations, gather community input, and promote Phoenixville Daily events.

Mentorship and Training:

  • Weekly check-ins with a designated mentor.
  • Class, workshops, 1-1's/shadowing, and more.
  • Guest speakers from industry professionals.

Compensation:

  • Academic credit (if approved by the student's institution).
  • Potential sales commissions on art sold.
  • Portfolio pieces.

Evaluation:

  • Mid-program and final performance reviews.
  • Opportunity to present a capstone project or portfolio at the end of the internship.

2. Interview:

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with our team.
