Collage Play Workshop With Marjorie Taylor Gavitt

Curious about collage and how you can include collage techniques in your creative projects? This 2-hour workshop will introduce you to several types of collage, a variety of materials and tools, and techniques you can easily master for your own work.

If you are new to collage, there is no need to go out and purchase supplies. Feel free to bring a pencil, scissors, and a 12-inch ruler if you have them; otherwise, we'll provide everything. Join us to learn, and go home with two different collage pieces!  

About the Class

Phoenixville Daily proudly presents the next in a series of ongoing art classes with local artist Marjorie Taylor Gavitt. The class runs for two hours and includes group and individual instruction as needed. All materials and instruction are included in the class cost. Wear studio attire that you won't mind working in. :)

About the Instructor

Marjorie Taylor Gavitt #mtgcreates is a mixed media artist, exploring mark-making, abstraction, drawing, painting, collage, assemblage, print-making, fiber arts, ceramics, and sculpture. She often juxtaposes realism and abstract form in the presentation.

She studied Fine Art and Art Education at Northwestern Connecticut Community College and Southern Connecticut University. During her more than 35-year career in Marketing Communications, she received further education in graphic arts, digital design, and videography. Marjorie engaged in the arts outside of her career, further developing skills in acrylic painting, fiber arts, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media work.

Currently, she utilizes many of these media in her work. She has exhibited in galleries in Ithaca, NY; Litchfield, CT; Denver and Golden, CO; Oxford, Aston, Audubon, and Phoenixville, PA.
